Today I received my second and final gas card, and wanted to let you know how much I appreciate it. I am working part-time and own a 15-year-old car I have no money to replace. I am currently driving 26 miles round trip five days a week for radiation treatments, and I’m fretting over the wear-and-tear on my poor Ford Focus. I have $100 horded away for a gas card, and I am so glad I can put off spending my gas money for a little longer.
For some reason radiation has been more stressful than chemotherapy and surgery. I’ve had unusual complications (after the first treatment one of my incisions broke open) and I always seem to be worrying. Getting some good news — $100 for gas — means so much to me.
Thank you for reaching out to help those who are going through hard times.
