FAQ’s

Is the StringsforaCURE® Foundation looking for guitar strings?
We have thousands of guitar strings at our studio. The strings do not make the foundation any money unless they are turned into a piece of jewelry and then purchased. We are only looking for strings from famous musicians such as Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Sheryl Crow, Dave Matthews, Ron Wood, Dave Grohl etc.

How much of the jewelry sale goes to the foundation?
100% of each jewelry sales goes to the foundation. The net proceeds from each sale, which is 50% is used to fund our programs. The other 50% is used to pay the artist’s fee.

Is my jewelry donation tax-deductible?
The StringsforaCURE® Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization. Your jewelry donation is 50% tax deductible to the extent allowable by law. Each order comes with a letter and Internal Revenue Service Regulations require you to keep the letter with your tax records to substantiate a charitable contribution on your federal income tax return for a separate single contribution of $250 or more. StringsforaCURE provided goods in partial consideration for your contribution. The fair market value for each piece, which is 50% of the total price, is what you are allowed to deduct as your charitable contribution.

If my donation is a monetary donation, how much goes to the StringsforaCURE foundation:
100% of each monetary donation goes to the StringsforaCURE Foundation. StringsforaCURE® is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization dedicated to providing education, comfort, support and financial assistance directly to cancer patients, primarily those with breast cancer. We provide gas, grocery and pharmacy gift cards, comfort baskets and medical grants to help ease patients’ emotional and financial burdens from diagnosis to survivorship. We offer educational materials that educate patients on cancer prevention and raise awareness of the importance of nutrition and wellness to recovery.

The monies raised are also used for operating expenses. Even though our expenses are relatively low, each charitable organization does need funds to operate.

If my donation is a monetary donation, and no goods or services were exchanged, how much is tax deductible?
